Meet Dumisani Baloyi
Dental Therapist – Degree in Dental Therapy (Medunsa)
Dumisani Baloyi is the founder and principal dental therapist at Baloyi Dentals. He completed his Degree in Dental Therapy at the Medical University of Southern Africa (Medunsa), where he developed both the clinical skills and the patient-focused mindset that shape his practice today.
His decision to pursue dental therapy came from a straightforward place: he wanted to help people feel better about their smiles. A healthy mouth changes more than just the way you look. It changes how you carry yourself, how you interact with others and how you feel about showing up in the world. That understanding drives every treatment he provides.
At Baloyi Dentals, Dumisani offers a full range of dental therapy services, from routine consultations and professional cleanings to restorations, extractions, whitening and veneers. He takes the time to listen, explain each procedure clearly and ensure that every patient leaves the chair informed and comfortable with the path forward.
His approach is grounded in transparency. Before any treatment begins, he walks patients through what to expect, why a particular procedure is being recommended and what the alternatives are. There is no rush. No pressure. Just a clear conversation between you and your dental therapist.
Outside the practice, Dumisani remains committed to growing within his field, staying current with developments in dental therapy and continuously refining his approach to patient care. He understands that dentistry evolves, and keeping pace with those changes is part of the responsibility that comes with treating patients.
For Dumisani, the most rewarding part of his work is seeing the difference a healthy smile makes in someone's life. A patient who walked in reluctant to open their mouth left with confidence. A child who overcame their fear of the dental chair. A long-overdue cleaning that makes someone feel like themselves again. These are the moments that remind him why he chose this path.
His focus remains the same as it has always been: improving smiles and the confidence that comes with them.
